Top-class tool design...
It is during the design phase that we create the basis for the perfect injection mould that will cast the perfect components. This is why we have a large design division with some of Denmark's best designers. Our designers start by evaluating the component in all its detail and usuallydiscuss several improvement proposals with the customer before the actual design process commences. At Hjerno, we are not just committed to design, but also to a minute review of the entire project to ensure that everyone is kept on track.
Our drawings are not just drawings, but an overall work description for the tool as a whole as all tool parts already at this stage will be described in our processes – i.e. not just in the way they are meant to look, but how they should be manufactured, something that greatly influences both precision and low cost levels.
We use one of the world’s most comprehensive CAD systems – Unigraphic NX. Currently, we use Version 7.5.2.5 which is the latest release.
Our CAD system is directly integrated into our CAM system which is also from Unigraphic. This avoids any conversion problems, etc.
Our IT system is the heart of our company, and our customers need to be fully confident that we store and are able to retrieve all files from our tool projects 100% safely.
This is why IT security at Hjernø is our priority. We have 11 servers in a fireproof room with temperature control and UPS power supply in the event of power failure.
We also make nightly backups of all files. These backups are stored in another secure room, but this is not all. We transfer all new files (incremental back-up) nightly to our own server with Telia in Copenhagen so if EVERYTHING should go wrong here in Odense, our customer files will always be safe...
